
Ark on Lake Lanier FAQ's
Planning & shopping for an epic lake vacation, family reunion, or company retreat can be overwhelming. We desire to make it easier on you. Below are questions that most guests ask. Let us know if we're missing something.
What does The Ark provide during your stay?

Coffee: We have a regular coffee pot as well as a Keurig coffeemaker available for you to use.

Linens: One set of towels per person and one set of sheets per bed are provided. Bring your own towels for pool and lake use.

Starter pack of paper towels, dishwasher soap, hand soap, toilet paper and kitchen-size and 33 gallon or larger trash bags are provided. Please bring extra of all these things if your stay is longer than 2 days, as well as your own beach/lake/pool towels, bath soap/shampoo, laundry detergent (High Efficiency), sunscreen and bug spray.

Bath towels are provided in every bathroom - Do not use these at the pool or lake.

Full chef’s kitchen with most everything you will need for cooking and preparing meals: There are three ovens, two blenders, crockpots, mixing bowls, four refrigerators/freezers, two dishwashers, and multiple ice makers (including a very large commercial ice maker in the garage).

Seating: 8 round tables available as well as multiple rectangle tables that can also be set up. Please bring your own table cloths, though there may be some that can be used on site. There are approximately 35 metal chairs on the porch, as well as 100 more chairs in storage if needed.

Laundry: There are three sets of washers and dryers available for your use. One set is upstairs in main house, another is in the barn cabin, and one more is in the garage cabin.

Phone/Internet Coverage: There is a land line phone in the office. The Ark's number is 678-971-4275. You should get decent cell coverage with any of the major phone companies. There is wireless Internet covering the whole house, reaching into both cabins, around the pool, etc.

What is your sleeping capacity?: A comfortable retreat may host 25-40 guests. We have a maximum bed capacity of 45 guests. There are ten rooms with king or queen beds and then bunk rooms to fill in the rest.

Do you offer early check-in or late check-out? We do sell early check-in and late check-out options depending on our calendar. Contact our property manager Jackie to find out if this option is available to you.

Check in time is 4pm or later unless arrangements have been made in advance for an early check-in.

Do you rent cabins separately? When you rent The Ark on Lanier, you rent the entire property. We do not rent individual cabins.

Do you offer one night rentals? We typically do not offer one night rentals. During slow seasons, we can be more flexible. Please reach out to us if you have. other minimum night rental questions.

What is the parking like at The Ark? Parking is limited to 25 vehicles or less can be parked in the large circle lower lot next to the volleyball field. There is a garage attached to the main house where one vehicle can be parked. There is a circle driveway behind the small cabin where 4-5 vehicles can be parked. The driveway may be used for initial unloading of food, luggage, etc, but must remain clear for emergency & fire department regulations. There is no parking allowed on the street or on grass anywhere on the property.

Can I hold a wedding at The Ark on Lanier? Please reach out to our property manager about weddings. We can host small, intimate weddings with some restrictions. Receptions with loud music and dancing is not permitted on the Ark property.

Receptions would need to be held off site if there will be music and dancing. The sound travels great distances over the lake and we want to respect our neighbors and their own privacy.

Can I host a party with a live band or DJ? Quiet hours are from 10pm to 8am. The Ark on Lanier is located in a residential neighborhood and needs to be respectful of our neighbors. Bands, DJs, outside speakers, microphones, other amplification equipment, or dance parties are not permitted at The Ark.

Normal crowd noise is ok. For example, children running around and having a good time is fine. We do have a Sonos sound system (indoor and outdoor) that can be used for soft background music.

Do the boats and jet skis come with the rental? For insurance and liability reasons, we do not provide watercraft or lake toys. CaptainWatersports.com can provide you with boat and jet ski rentals, as well as surf lessons if interested.

Do you supply life vests? Please bring your own life vests and jackets. We have tried in the past to provide them but they disappear weekly. Please stop by Walmart, Costco, Sam’s Club or a sporting goods store to get life vests that perfectly fit you and your children. If you rent any watercraft from one of the vendors, life vests are typically included.

Do you provide pool and lake toys and floats? Yes. We supply a variety of blowup and floating toys for your family to enjoy during your stay. Please bring your own life jackets and vests.

Do you provide firewood? Yes, there is firewood behind Kathy’s cabin that is available for your use during your stay with us.

What games do you have at the Ark? Indoors games: Ping pong, billiards, shuffleboard, foosball, video games, puzzles, board games

Outside games: Sand volleyball, corn hole, tether ball, gaga ball, basketball and frisbee golf (please bring your own frisbee discs).

Additionally, we have a sports locker full of other yard games and stocked with portable pickleball court, horseshoes, KanJam, volleyballs, which can also be used for the Gaga pit and so much more.

Do you have a workout room?

Yes, we have converted one of our garages into a workout room with free weights, dumbbells, exercise bike, jump ropes, treadmill and more.

Do you provide off season rates or special rates for churches or 501c3 organizations?
Please reach out to our property manager about non-profit pricing during our slower season.
What should we bring as a guest?

Beach towels: You need to bring your own towels for boating, pool, and hot tub

Shampoo: Don’t forget to bring your favorite soap and shampoo as The Ark does not provide these items

Coffee & tea is NOT provided: You may purchase either K-Cups or ground coffee for a coffee pot

Groceries: Your favorite vacation groceries

Food storage: Foil, plastic wrap, ziplock bags, etc

Paper & plastic products: If you want easy cleanup – plates, cups, utensils, napkins
